Last week, on October 3rd and 4th in Sarajevo, we had the pleasure of sponsoring another amazing event organized by Bravaria industrial marketing i Targer Engineering & Consulting , focused on supply chain management: Targer SCM Conf 2024.
Ensolva’s Engagement Manager, Hari Zamlić, gave a presentation titled “Challenging the Status Quo – Ready to Take the Leap?” where he highlighted that today’s most successful companies in the supply chain are those that are embracing digitalization and digital transformation. These companies are pushing boundaries, questioning the status quo, and finding custom solutions that fit their business needs.
During his presentation, Hari broke down the differences between terms like digitalization, informatization, automation, and digital transformation. These words often get thrown around like they mean the same thing, but they actually refer to very different concepts. He highlighted how understanding these differences can be key when it comes to making smart decisions about investing in technology and picking the right solutions.
“Digital transformation isn’t just about adopting new technology—it’s about rethinking the way a company operates, how it interacts with its customers, and how it manages its resources. It requires a cultural shift within the company, where you’re not just following trends but actively seeking new opportunities through technology.”
His thoughts on artificial intelligence (AI) sparked a lively discussion among the attendees. “AI is often misunderstood and confused with terms like computerization and automation, which leads to unrealistic expectations and misunderstandings about what it can actually do.” He made it clear that AI is not as simple or widespread as it’s often made out to be—it’s a whole new paradigm with the potential to change the way we work and make decisions. “Today, everything is labeled as AI, from chatbots to basic algorithms. But we need to make a distinction between pre-programmed responses and true AI.” Unlike computerization or automation, AI’s true strength lies in its ability to make strategic decisions based on huge amounts of data, constantly adapting to new conditions. The key thing to understand is that AI isn’t just a technical upgrade, but a tool that can reshape how we work, from daily operations to customer relationships.
Hari also touched on how digital transformation is especially important for procurement as part of the supply chain, and how Ensolva offers practical solutions that allow companies to fully transition to digital procurement processes. With Ensolva, companies can optimize their entire procurement process, which not only boosts efficiency but also provides more transparency, better control, and significant cost savings. Hari concluded by explaining that software like Ensolva doesn’t just make day-to-day procurement easier—it enables companies to take a strategic leap into a digitally transformed business, where procurement is no longer just an operational task, but a source of competitive advantage. Companies that have recognized the importance of this transformation are already benefiting from optimized processes, cost reduction, and improved supplier collaboration.
When talking about change, Hari emphasized that it shouldn’t be something to fear but rather seen as an opportunity for growth and improvement. “Companies that embrace change and actively seek ways to improve usually have a much better chance of long-term success.”
Besides Hari’s presentation, attendees at Targer SCMCon 2024 had the opportunity to listen to other insightful talks that deepened their understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the supply chain. Events like these are incredibly important because they foster the exchange of ideas, experiences, and innovative solutions. They also drive the industry forward toward digital transformation and the adoption of new technologies, which in turn contributes to the long-term success of businesses.
Procurement plays a crucial role in the supply chain, and we were thrilled to be part of this event. We’re looking forward to future opportunities where we can work together to build a better, more digital business environment!
